Vincent K. Kimosop currently serves as the Policy & Governance Expert/CEO at SOVEREIGN INSIGHT.  The consulting firm provides innovative and cutting-edge solutions to public, private and non-state actors in the area of Policy, Strategy, Governance and Advisory Services.

Until February 2020, he served at the Technical Tax Advisor at Tax Justice Network Africa (TJNA), providing support to partners in Kenya, Nigeria, Zambia and RDC. TJNA is a pan-African research and advocacy organisation established in 2007 and a member of the Global Alliance for Tax Justice (GATJ). TJNA collaborates closely with its member organisations and other civil society partners across Africa to curb illicit financial flows (IFFs) and promote progressive taxation systems.

He was the inaugural Chairperson of the Unclaimed Financial Assets Authority (UFAA) and he helped establish the foundation, systems and structures of the institution. This is the first regime in the African Continent and its now a benchmark for others in the Africa and beyond. He has also written and published on the subject of unclaimed financial assets.

He is the former Chief Executive Officer of the International Institute for Legislative Affairs (IILA). He joined the organization in January 2009 as the Programme Coordinator, where he was responsible for providing overall leadership in the delivery of institute’s mandate in Public Policy Research, Drafting, and Capacity Building. He led advocacy campaigns that led to the passage of Unclaimed Financial Assets Bill 2011, Increased Taxation of Tobacco Products in 2015 through the Excise Bill 2015 and Development of a Mental Health Policy 2016 & Legislation.

He previously worked with Transparency International (Kenyan chapter) where he was responsible for coordinating the development of tools and publications to benchmarks the nation’s progress in the fight against graft. He was part of the technical reference group that advised the Kenyan government on a governance, justice, law and order reform programme. During this period, he also served as in the technical team that produced the first ever strategic plan for the civil society in Kenya.

He has also worked with Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) which is civic forum that seeks to promote pluralism of ideas through open, active and informed debate on public policy issues, in the capacity of a Research Assistant. His duties involved coordinating the production of Policy research reports on constituency development, so as to facilitate the use of futures methodologies like visioning, scenarios building and strategic planning to improve the use of devolved funds at the constituency level.

He currently serves as the Secretary of the Kenya Christian Professionals Forum (KCPF); an organization that advocates Family-Life Values; Religious Freedom, Good Governance and Social Justice in Kenya and beyond.
