
Meeting with the Chief Justice Hon. Lady Justice Martha Koome
Board Chairman Charles Kanjama, Board secretary Vincent Kimosop & Programmes’ Manager Patience Mutie paid a courtesy call to the Chief Justice Hon. Lady Justice Martha Koome. We delivered our congratulatory message following her assumption of office and expressed our intention to partner with the judiciary in the promotion of justice. The CJ was very happy and assured us of her commitment in working with professionals to promote access to justice. To achieve this, she intends to sort out the case backlog problem in Kenya’s judiciary. She’s also committed to have all corruption cases heard and determined.

We agreed to partner in the following areas:
- Katiba Day: Collaborate on the commemoration of the anniversary of the Kenyan Constitution (Katiba Day) on 27th August, and make it an annual custom.
- Judiciary and Professionals Round Table: KCPF to convene a roundtable bringing together Judiciary and other professional. This is to take place during Professionals Week (Between 6th and 8th September 2021)
- Judiciary Prayer Service: In partnership the major umbrella Church bodies, i.e. (Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops) KCCB, National Council of Churches of Kenya (NCCK) and Evangelical Alliance of Kenya (EAK), KCPF to convene annual prayer service for all Kenya Judiciary staff.
- State of Life, Family and Faith Report (SLFFR): Upon mandate by the CJ, KCPF to contact Judiciary’s Family Division for provision of research and data towards the development of the annual SLFRR.
