Angaza Fundraising Dinner
Since its inception in 2010, KCPF has thrived through donations from members, partners and all Christians who are passionate about having a society that upholds and defends the Biblical values. Since the year 2016, the leadership of KCPF started an annual fundraising campaign dubbed ‘Angaza’ which comprises of a fundraising drive culminating into a fundraising dinner. So far, we have held 3 Angazas; 2016, 2017 & 2019. The funds we have raised so far, though limited, have enabled us to achieve much, including;
- Institutionalize a secretariat headed by the Executive Director which is housed in an accessible and ample office space in New Waumini House, Westlands, Nairobi,
- We have also been able to work closely with several organizations on different initiatives to advance the mandate of our institution. For example, KCPF has partnered with the National Government through the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection in planning, executing and celebrating the annual UN International Day of Family (IDOF).
- To run various programs under our five pillars; Life, Family, Religion, Values-Based Education and Governance & Leadership committees. These programs include The Ecumenical Prayer Breakfast (January), Life week/March for the Dignity of Human Life (March), Family Symposium (May), Utumishi Bora Awards (December)
- KCPF is also enjoined as an Interested Party in several lawsuits in court on LGBTQ and Abortion, whose intent is to articulate the Christian perspective in the protection of Family and Life. A case in point is the court case pitting Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) Kenya & Others V Attorney General & 2 Others whose ruling was made on 12th June 2019, in favor of FIDA (petitioners). In yet another case pitting Eric Gitari Case 2 (Eric Gitari Vs the Attorney General (2016) Eklr), the petitioners sought the decriminalization of Homosexuality as illustrated by the Kenya Penal Code. The court judgment was made on 24th May 2019, the court failed to repeal the penal codes in question stating that the petitioners failed to prove how the Kenyan laws violated their right to health, dignity, and privacy.
This year the Angaza Fundraising Dinner will be held on the 5th of December 2020 at Serena Hotel starting at 6:30 pm and will cost 10,000 pp. We welcome all those who believe in advancing our course to join us and together let’s advance the work of our Lord God.
